Summer! Weeeee!

It's officially the middle of summer, and we had a big adventure a few weeks ago--Evelyn's first long vacation! For the 4th of July, we went over to Edwall to spend time with Jason's folks and family for a week of relaxing by the lake, hanging out at the farm, enjoying the warm weather, finishing off with her first camping trip! We went up to Priest Lake, and had some pretty yummy camping food with Grant & Jess heading it up and bringing most of the equipment, and hiked to a neat river and caught a glimpse of a few mountain goats--what a pretty area. We all had a blast (not to mention some pretty crazy ones on the 4th!) and got some much needed sunshine and dry weather.

She's 6 1/2 months and here are some highlights of her happenings over the last month: she's sleeping mostly on her tummy, enjoys sucking her thumb on occasion, exploring 'O' sounds, smiling & laughing (you never know what will trigger her giggles: hiccups, tickles & plastic bags to name a few:), lots of standing & jumping when held, chewing on straps and pretty much anything, trying new solids here and there (sweet potatoes are her favorite right now), and now can sit by herself for periods of time! Whew, she's one fun little girl!
